The City of Pittsfield’s annual Veterans Day Parade will begin at 10 a.m. Monday, Nov. 11.
For those participating, lineup will take place 9:30-9:45 a.m. on Fenn, Pearl and Allen streets and will leave from City Hall on Fenn Street at 10 a.m. The group will proceed to North Street, turn left, followed by another left on South Street, and continue to Veterans Memorial Park, the location of the ceremony.
This year’s guest speaker will be Marine Corps Veteran Curtis Janey and the Veteran of the Year is George Winters, Marine Corps. The Master of Ceremonies will be John Herrera, former Marine, retired Coast Guardsman, and the city’s Director of Veterans’ Services.
In the event of inclement weather, the exercises will be held at Morningside Community School, 100 Burbank St. Please stay tuned to local radio stations and Pittsfield Community Television (PCTV) for information pertaining to weather-related updates.
After the ceremonies, veterans and their families are invited to attend a luncheon at the Veterans Affairs Outpatient Clinic at 73 Eagle St. Additionally, the event will also feature free haircuts and massages for veterans.
