The Pittsfield Airport Commission, in conjunction with the Airport Planning Advisory Committee, will hold a public information meeting regarding the Airport Master Plan Update for the Pittsfield Municipal Airport from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Oct.2 at the airport. The meeting will be held in the lobby of the terminal building.
The purpose of the meeting is to present the facility requirements and alternatives for future proposed development to the public and to receive written comments. Additionally, the update will help to finalize the revisions of the existing 2001 Airport Master Plan. A brief presentation will begin at 6 p.m. and representatives of the Planning Committee and Stantec Consulting Services will be available to answer questions.
An Airport Master Plan update allows the community and airport users to define guidelines for future airport improvements, and identify existing safety and capacity deficiencies at the airport. The plan identifies a logical, organized approach for meeting both existing and future airport demands.
