Berkshire Athenaeum is pleased to announce recent upgrades to its technology services which allow for a better customer experience.
The library now offers scanning services allowing documents to be scanned as black and white images for email attachments or saved to flash drives. Those who need assistance with scanning can also stop by the Reference Desk.
This function complements existing library computer services which provide access to desktop workstations outfitted with office software; laptop and mobile devices; wireless internet service and printing from patron-owned devices.
These enhancements provide better print management to the many patrons who visit the library to draft resumes, research papers, and other documents, said Rebecca McDole, Technical Services Librarian.
“Visitors regularly clock a total of 2,000 hours of desktop computer use per month. It’s gratifying to know that we are able to offer this new service – a consistent request –by leveraging existing technology,” McDole said.
