The Retired Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP) of Berkshire County will host a Red Cross Blood Drive 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 29 at the Berkshire Athenaeum, 1 Wendell Ave.
The Red Cross is urging blood donors to give in the final weeks of summer to help overcome “a critical summer blood shortage.”
In appreciation for helping to save lives, those who donate blood will receive a $5 Amazon gift card claim code.
RSVP is sponsored locally by Pittsfield and receives support from the Corporation for National Service (CNS). RSVP provides recruitment, training and placement of adults 55 years of age and over as volunteers. The program enables adult volunteers to use their time and skills to meet new people, help others, be productive and creative, grow personally, explore new careers and help to make a difference in their community. RSVP includes more than a half million seniors in community service projects nationwide.
