North Adams, MA- On Monday, April 13th, at 10:00am, Mayor Alcombright will officially “Challenge” Mayor Bianchi to a fun and friendly competition for the 2015 Mayor’s Fitness Challenge. The North Adams vs. Pittsfield Challenge will be the first of its kind.
With north Berkshire Mass in Motion’s new collaboration with Be Well Berkshires, this is a fun and motivating opportunity to bring together these two Mass In Motion/Be Well Berkshire communities together, working to achieve a common goal of increasing the overall health and wellness of the two cities. The Mayor’s Fitness Challenge was a huge success in North Adams last year; this year’s city v. city challenge creates a unique and fun twist to the Challenge. Monday’s press conference will provide an opportunity for the media to capture the official “Challenge” proposed by Mayor Alcombright, as well as asking questions about the Kick-off event, how the Challenge will work, how the Challenge benefits the community or any other questions pertaining to the 2015 Mayor’s Fitness Challenge.
This event has been organized by the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition’s Mass in Motion, Be Well Berkshires, the Healthy Pittsfield Partnership, the City of North Adams, and the City of Pittsfield.
