10 x 10 Festival Outdoor Recreation Activities

Berkshire Natural Resources Council - Story Walk at Wild Acres
Saturday, 02/13/2021 through Sunday, 02/21/2021, Dawn to Dusk
Location: Wild Acres, 500 South Mountain Road, Pittsfield
Get outside and enjoy the winter with a half-mile hike and learn about animal tracks along the way. Naturalist Mary Holland's book, "Animal Tracks & Traces" will be on display in both English and Spanish.
Read along with your family and put your own animal detective skills to work!
Berkshire Family Hikes will be handing out take-home activity kits on Saturday, February 13th from 10 a.m. to noon.
The StoryWalk® will be on display from dawn to dusk through Sunday, Feb. 21st.


Mass Audubon – Starlight Owl and Wildlife Prowl

Location: Canoe Meadows Wildlife Sanctuary, Pittsfield

Free for all ages!
Enjoy a starlit evening listening and watching for owls and other nocturnal wildlife. We’ll explore fields, forests, and wetlands, learning about animal adaptations for night hunting. This program will enjoy a gentle walk over sometimes uneven terrain but with plenty of stopping and listening. This program is offered free in support of the Pittsfield 10×10 festival.
 
REGISTRATION REQUIRED. No “walk-in” participants may attend. All participants are asked to follow and maintain six feet of distance and wear a face covering unless unable to do so due to medical conditions.  Dress for the weather.
