Pittsfield Municipal Airport hosted its first pilot seminar on Saturday, Sept. 16, which attracted several pilots from across the New England area.
Nearly 30 pilots registered and attended the interactive event, presented by Aircraft Owners and Pilots Association (AOPA) and sponsored by the South Mountain Flying Club. Participants received three hours of ground instruction toward completing their flight review and received take-home materials.
There were also free aviation-related activities for children in attendance.
“This was a first for PSF in terms of having a learning/educational seminar,” said Airport Manager Gloria Bouillon. “I think it was a really good turnout. If we can continue this movement and foster the growth of aviation and pilots, then we’re on the right path.”
