Pittsfield Fire Department to Host Open House at Headquarters

The Pittsfield Fire Department will host an open house from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 15 at Fire Department Headquarters, 74 Columbus Ave.

The community is invited to come out and meet the city’s firefighters and learn about fire safety practices. The event is part of 2016 Fire Prevention Week, which focuses this year on the replacement of smoke alarms. Toward this important initiative, Mayor Linda Tyer has also officially proclaimed Oct. 9-15 as Fire Prevention Week in Pittsfield.

The event will also feature a live broadcast from Live 95.9 WBEC-FM radio personalities Slater and Marjo. Refreshments are courtesy of Papa Gino’s Pizzeria, Jaeschke’s Orchard, and Crescent Creamery. Sponsors also include Coakley Pierpan Dolan & Collins and County Ambulance.
