Streetscape Phase 4 update - week of Aug. 1

For the week of Aug. 1, Streetscape contractor Maxymillian will be grading sidewalks for the sidewalk subcontractor from the driveway of St. Joseph’s Church to Maplewood Avenue.  The driveway apron for the church will be poured on Monday. Construction work will start at 7 a.m.

This will cause the church driveway to be closed for a few days.  The driveway to the municipal lot south of the Greystone Building will be poured later in the week.  The driveway will be done one lane at a time in order to allow for vehicle traffic in and out of the lot.  Maxymillian will also be setting the final granite seat wall at the north corner of North Street and Maplewood Avenue.

The curbing and sidewalk subcontractor, Varandas Construction, will continue installing granite curbing on the east side of North Street from the municipal lot south of the Greystone Building to Maplewood Avenue.  Sidewalk restoration will take place in front of the Greystone Building throughout the week.  Parking and pedestrian traffic may be disrupted by this work.

Pedestrian traffic will be guided by pedestrian guardrails and drums.

Vehicular traffic may be down to one lane in both directions.  Parking in some areas will be affected by this work.  Vehicles will be guided with signs, cones, and drums allowing traffic to travel safely in the downtown area.
