Milling and Paving Work Begins, Part of Street Improvement Project

As part of the City of Pittsfield’s Street Improvement Project, the Department of Public Services will be milling and repaving the following streets: East Housatonic, Deming (from East Housatonic to Elm), Hubbard (from East to Railroad Bridge), Intersection of Francis and West (near the Salvation Army) and Jason (from West approximately 500 feet southerly).

A temporary no parking ban will be in effect for these streets. The schedule is as follows:

  • Parking on both sides of East Housatonic Street will be temporarily suspended starting at 5 a.m., Monday, Aug. 1 until 5 p.m. Monday, Aug. 1.

 

  • Deming (in the section noted above):  5 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2 until 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2.

 

  • Hubbard (in the section noted above): 5 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2 until 5 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 2.

 

  • Francis, West, Jason: 5 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3 until 5 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 3 to allow for milling operations.

Parking may resume following the completion of the milling work and will be temporarily suspended again to accommodate the upcoming paving work.  A subsequent press release will be issued with dates of the paving work.

Any vehicles found parked during these times are subject to towing at the owner’s expense. Travelers may expect delays and are encouraged to seek alternate routes.

The City apologizes for the inconvenience and kindly asks for patience as it is necessary to improve the  infrastructure.
