Streetscape Phase 4 Update - Week of July 11

For the week of July 11, Streetscape contractor, Maxymillian, will be grading sidewalks for the sidewalk subcontractor from Melville Street to St. Joseph’s Church.  Construction work will start at 7 a.m.

Maxymillian will have a crew continuing excavation of sidewalks and conduit installation on the east side of North St.  The crew will start the week working on the section north of Maplewood Ave and working north to White Terrace.  Excavation of sidewalks in front of the Greystone Building will begin as early as the end of the week.

Maxymillian will also have a crew moving throughout the construction zone working in spot locations, in the roadway, to lower the existing structures ahead of the road milling scheduled to take place late this month.

The curbing and sidewalk subcontractor, Varandas Construction, will continue installing granite curbing on the east side of North Street from Carson Place to St. Joseph’s Church.  Sidewalk restoration will take place from the Melville Street to Carson Place. Parking and pedestrian traffic may be disrupted by this work but access to storefronts will be maintained.

Pedestrian traffic will be guided by pedestrian guardrails and drums.

Vehicular traffic will be down to one lane in both directions.  Parking in some areas will be affected by this work.  Vehicles will be guided with signs, cones, and drums allowing traffic to travel safely in the downtown area
