Onota Lake and Richmond Pond will be chemically treated with aquatic herbicides on Monday, June 13 to control invasive Eurasian watermilfoil and other nuisance aquatic vegetation.
The lakes will be closed to all water uses including, swimming, fishing and boating on the day of treatment. These uses may resume on the morning of Tuesday, June 14. Please note that use of the lake water for irrigation such as watering lawns, gardens or plants of any kind is strictly prohibited for 14 days post treatment.
Printed posters warning of these and other temporary water use restrictions will be posted around each lake shoreline in advance of the treatment. For more information, call Jim McGrath at 499-9344.
