A conversation on consumer rights related to assistance animals in rental housing will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, May 12 in Council Chambers at City Hall.
The discussion , open to the public, will be led by Meris Bergquist, an attorney and Executive Director of the Massachusetts Fair Housing Center. An advocate for people with disabilities, Bergquist has represented individuals who have been unlawfully denied the right to live with an animal. Bergquist will review the latest developments in federal and state laws and the legal issues that result from living with assistance animals in rental housing.
