Edible Flowers: Ideas for Flowers in Your Cooking!

The Berkshire Athenaeum, Pittsfield’s Public Library, is hosting Edible Flowers: Ideas for Flowers in Your Cooking, presented by Stockbridge Herbs at 7 pm on Thursday, June 27.

Flower cookery has been traced back to the Roman times and to the Chinese, Middle Eastern and Indian cultures. Today many restaurant chefs and home cooks use flower in their dishes. Stockbridge Herbs, a farm-based herbal business located in South Deerfield, will demonstrate food preparation techniques and share tips. Tastings & recipes will be provided. Admission is free and open to the public; no registration is necessary. 

This program is offered as part of Boom! Next Chapter, an initiative providing information and ideas on pursuing a healthy, creative and productive retirement for the generation born 1946 - 1964. The project is a collaboration of the Berkshire Athenaeum; Friends of the Berkshire Athenaeum; Froio Center; and RSVP- Berkshire County with funding provided by an LSTA grant, a Federal source of library funding administered by the Massachusetts Board of Library Commissioners.
