Berkshire Athenaeum Free Family Event

The Berkshire Athenaeum is pleased to announce a free family event!

Please join us on Saturday, June 27 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM at the Berkshire Athenaeum as our Children’s department celebrates the kick-off of our 2015 Children and Teen Summer Reading Program.

All ages are welcome to this Comic-Con like event. Kids and Teens are encouraged to dress up as their favorite Superhero to keep with this year’s Summer Reading theme “Every Hero has a Story”. There will be cash prizes for best costumes. Fantasy Realms comic store will be on hand to give teens free comic books. Eugene Mamut, an Academy Award winning special effects artist who has worked on such films as “Starship Troopers” and “The Matrix”, will present some of the tricks of the trade.

Kids, ages 5-12, and Teens, ages 13-18, can sign up for the Summer Reading Program as they enjoy the afternoon’s activities which will also include a treasure hunt through the library.

No registration is required. Children under 10 must be accompanied at all times by an adult over 18 years of age. Event sponsored by The Friends of the Berkshire Athenaeum.
