Pittsfield's Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony

The Department of Community Development Recreation Program has announced that the annual Christmas Tree Lighting Ceremony, sponsored by Republic Services, will be held at Park Square on Friday, December 5, at 6:00 p.m. The Taconic High School Chorus will perform a variety of carols, Santa & Mrs. Claus will arrive following the tree lighting, and free hot chocolate will be available, courtesy of Patrick’s Pub.

Those planning to attend the ceremony are asked to bring non-perishable food items that will be donated to the Christian Center’s food pantry.

Mayor Bianchi stated, “The tree lighting is a Pittsfield holiday tradition. I encourage those attending to bring food items for the Christian Center’s pantry.  The holiday season is an important time for us all to give to those in need.”
