Water Main Break Repaired

Mayor Bianchi and Department of Public Utilities have announced that the water main break on the City’s water transmission main into the City from the Cleveland Water Treatment Plant has been repaired. On Wednesday evening, the city made the permanent repair to the pipe.

Mayor Bianchi stated, “The repair to the main break was quickly remedied and repaired.  I would like to thank all of the City employees who put so much effort into ensuring that there were no major effects as the main break was temporarily, and then permanently, repaired.  I also want to thank the residents of Pittsfield for being patient during this time.”

While there should be no problems with City water, there are some areas that have reported localized dirty water.  Should dirty water be experienced, customers may wish to let the water run for a short period to clear prior to use.  Should dirty water conditions persist, please contact the Water Department at 499-9339.
