Republic Services Donates to Farmers' Market and Parade Committee

On Tuesday, August 5th, Republic Services generously presented a check to the Farmers’ Market and the Pittsfield Parade Committee.  The donation of $1,500 dollars was given out to each organization.

Bruce Stanas, of Republic Services, stated that Republic Services is “very involved and committed to community partnerships in every community we [Republic Services] are in.”

He added that the company has made multiple donations to various organizations in Pittsfield in years past and will continue to do so in the future.

Regina Burgio, of RB Design Co. and also a representative of the Pittsfield Farmers’ Market, was on hand to accept the $1,500 donation.  She stated, “We do not yet have an exact plan for where the money will be spent; however, we are currently working on expanding our marketing campaign.” (The Farmer’s Market is thinking about adding radio advertisements to their marketing campaign in order to better reach all of the neighborhoods in Pittsfield.)

Mayor Bianchi stated, “I am pleased to be here for this generous donation from Republic Services.  The Farmers’ Market and the Pittsfield Parade Committee are both worthy recipients of the $1,500 check.  Standing with Regina while she accepted the check was a highlight of my day as the Farmers’ Market has become a great weekend City attraction.”

The parade committee was not on hand to receive their check; therefore, were not able to comment.
