Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony

Mayor Bianchi, along with The Berkshire Veterans’ Coalition, will honor America’s deceased war veterans on Monday, May 26th.  The morning will commence with a parade led by the Master of Ceremonies, Fran Tremblay, starting at the steps of City Hall at 9:00am. The parade will lead to the Pittsfield Cemetery where the ceremony will begin.

“Memorial Day should be a reflective day for all Americans. I am honored to have the opportunity to speak on behalf of our thankful community and to recognize all those who have served and died and especially those who made the ultimate sacrifice to defend our freedom and democracy.” Mayor Bianchi stated. “As a former member of the Army National Guard, I am especially grateful for all service people of every generation and their selfless defense of our country.  We will forever be indebted to these brave men and women and the families they left behind.”

The ceremony and parade will give us all a time to honor the men and women of Pittsfield who have given their lives to protect our country. Local dignitaries will attend the event, along with the playing of Taps and the National Anthem performed by the Pittsfield High School band.
