City Volunteer Attains Highest Level of Arboriculture Certification

Mr. Robert L. Presutti, MCA, a consulting arborist in Pittsfield, Massachusetts, has recently attained the highest level of certification in the arboriculture profession within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. The examination was taken on April 4th, 2014. The MCA designation was established by the Massachusetts Arborist Association (MAA) and tests candidates on their knowledge of all aspects of arboriculture. The exam encompasses crucial areas such as tree biology, safety and laws, tree planting, tree risk management, pruning, cabling and bracing, as well as soil management and insect and disease management. This is a voluntary certification program that gives individuals, as well as the companies that employ them, the opportunity to increase their knowledge and abilities within the tree care profession. Presutti is the R.S.V.P. volunteer coordinator for Springside Park and is past President of the Vincent Hebert Arboretum at Springside.

Mr. Presutti is one of a select group in the Commonwealth that has credentials to prove his expertise and ability to provide results in tree care profession. Mr. Presutti has volunteered many hours working on trees at the City owned Springside Park at 874 North Street. Mayor Dan Bianchi states “ Bob Presutti is one of those great community volunteers who enrich Pittsfield. It is not unusual to find Bob at Springside Park pruning, or planting trees. He is a real community treasure.”
