Fishing Derby to be Held at Wild Acres

Mayor Bianchi and the City of Pittsfield Conservation Commission announce that they, along with Lyon Aviation will sponsor a FREE Fishing Derby for youth 14 and under Saturday, April 26 at Wild Acres (rain or shine).  Volunteer support will be provided by the Onota Fishing Club to assist with dressing fish, providing fishing tips and techniques, baiting, etc.  The derby will begin at 8:00 a.m. and last until 2:00 p.m.  Trophies will be awarded to those who catch a tagged fish.  Bait will be provided, and a limited amount of fishing poles will be available for use on a first come, first serve basis to those who do not own one.

Anyone from the community who needs accommodations for handicapped vehicle access is asked to contact (413) 281-0064.  Instructions will be provided on how vehicles with handicapped persons can park adjacent to the pond area.

Grab a fishing pole and head on up to Wild Acres.  Wild Acres is located off of South Mountain Road in Pittsfield.
