The Berkshire Funding Resource Center
In collaboration with the City of Pittsfield's Cultural Pittsfield initiative, the Berkshire Funding Resource Center, a new center for researching grant prospects has been established at Pittsfield's public library, the Berkshire Athenaeum.
The Berkshire Funding Resource Center is a Cooperating Collection of the Foundation Center, and includes an online directory from the Foundation Center featuring comprehensive information on almost 80,000 foundations and corporate giving programs and over half a million successful grants.
The directory is free and accessible to the public during library hours. To access the online directory, visit the Reference Section at the back of the library, and a librarian will sign you onto a computer. For more information on the directory, including a guided tour, click here.
The Berkshire Athenaeum and the Berkshire Funding Resource Center are located at One Wendell Avenue in downtown Pittsfield. For directions and contact information, click here. The library and Center are open Monday through Thursday, 9 am - 9 pm; Friday, 9 am - 5 pm; and Saturday 10 am - 5 pm
In addition, Foundation directories on topics including Foundation Grants to Individuals, the National Guide to Funding in Arts and Culture and many others are available for your research.
For more information on the Berkshire Funding Resource Center and training sessions on using the Foundation Directory online, contact the library's Reference Department at 413-499-9480 during regular library hours or at pittsref@cwmars.org.
The Berkshire Funding Resource Center was made possible by the John & Abigail Adams Cultural Economic Development Grants Program of the Massachusetts Cultural Council.
