Berkshire Carousel: Call for Artists

Dear Fellow Artist:

We of the Berkshire Carousel Art Committee (BCAC) would like to invite you to participate in an exciting local art project, Berkshire Carousel.  This volunteer project is the creation of the first wooden hand carved carousel in New England in almost 100 years. Over 130 volunteers have been involved in the carving and painting of carousel figures, fund raising and designing this wonderful work of art. We would specifically like you to consider submitting a painting to actually be on the carousel itself in one of the rounding boards (outer panels) or center panels surrounding the operating mechanism. The art will depict the culture, beauty and /or history of the Berkshires.

We are excited to have so many local artists involved in this project. The really nice part is that the artists whose paintings appear on the carousel actually get to keep the original artwork as their work will be digitally captured and reproduced on the panels. The artists will be able to reproduce their art for sale and display/sell the original painting.  Berkshire Carousel will also promote the work of all participating artists involved in the project in future shows or displays at the carousel.
